What happens to your shoppers’ photos
Prevyou uses a shopper’s photo only to create their try-on image. The photo is deleted from our servers as soon as the result is ready, and the result image within 24 hours. Photos are never used to train AI models, and Prevyou collects no name, email, phone number or address.
Consent before upload
The shopper must tick a consent box, unticked by default, before the photo can be sent.
Photo deleted right away
The photo is deleted from our servers as soon as the try-on is finished, whether it succeeded or failed, with an hourly safety check.
Result deleted within 24 hours
The generated image is available to the shopper during their visit and deleted within 24 hours.
Optional: kept on the shopper’s device for 10 minutes
If the shopper ticks “keep my photo”, it stays in their own browser for 10 minutes to try other products, then is erased. It is not kept on our servers.
Never used for training
Photos and results are never used to train any AI model, by Prevyou or by our image-generation provider.
No personal details
Statistics are numbers only (try-ons, add-to-carts, order amounts). Each shopper is counted with a random anonymous identifier, not a name or email.
Hosted in Europe
Our database and storage are in the European Union (Ireland) and our servers in Paris. Image generation uses OpenAI; see our privacy policy for details.
Frequently asked questions
Is Prevyou GDPR compliant?
Prevyou is designed for the GDPR: explicit consent, data minimization, deletion right after use and Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks (data requests, deletion of customer and store data). Merchants remain responsible for informing their shoppers in their own privacy policy.
Can a shopper ask for their data to be deleted?
Yes. Photos are already deleted after use; for anything else, the shopper can contact the store or us at contact@app-prevyou.com, and Shopify’s deletion requests are applied automatically.
